I ordered the pork knuckle which made me a whole new person, it is rather big not for one person for sure, it didnt stop me though. The house beer is amazing and refreshing. – Nesi ★★★★★

Grilled minced meat rolls (mititei) by Caru’ cu bere

Even from it’s beginnings, the real star of Caru’ cu bere’s menu and the dish which made locals form lines in front of the restaurant just to be able to get a table were the grilled minced meat rolls, or “mititei”, as they are known among the locals. This famous recipe was kept intact for decades and it’s a must-try if you find yourself in Bucharest.

This is one restaurant in Bucharest where the mititei are true perfection as well as safe to eat. The house beer is also very good. The building is a historical monument – one could say – and just around the corner is the Stavropoleos church which is well worth visiting. – Erwin ★★★★★

House beer

In the the more than 130 years since we are around, we had the pleasure of serving both locals and foreign tourists, and while many things have changed since the first opening of the restaurant, what hasn’t change is the recipe we use for our famous house beer, an unique recipe create by the founder of the beerhous, Mircea Nicolae.
